They seem to be everywhere at the moment - those red flag fitness accounts that, despite big follower numbers, you really should follow with caution.
You know the ones, the influencer accounts that, often indirectly, suggest that by training how they train or eating how they eat you will miraculously look the same as they do.
The accounts with the numerous before and after posts.. the ones of how they used to look before they became nutrition or coaching experts overnight 🤦♀️
Don’t get me wrong, these self proclaimed health gurus are doing nothing wrong by encouraging healthy habits and healthy eating - provided they can ground their promises with scientific evidence.
Unfortunately, despite all sharing their definition of healthy, the majority of these accounts follow the trend of restriction in one form or another. Fasting, keto, gluten free (outside of medical necessity), carnivore, dairy free (outside of medical necessity), paleo, zero sugar.. the list goes on.
I know that much of what I do isn’t sexy, but my work with clients is tailored to each of them as an individual, with a promise to do right by them - and this will never change!
Please remember that we are all unique and what works for you will likely never work for your friend, family member or colleague. The same as what works for your favourite influencer will likely never work for you either.. at least not in the way it’s claimed will.
