Heya!

My name is Maria Margarida and I work in both the NHS and the private setting. I have a broad experience in clinical nutrition having worked for over 4 years in critical care and supporting people with various conditions and being under treatment.

Being Portuguese by background and a self-proclaimed 'foodie', I do honour food as a way to bring people together, to express cultural identity and also as an important element of pleasure and emotional well-being.

In clinic, I follow an inclusive and non-weight centred approach which means we will work towards your goals and address your health and your relationship with food and not focusing so much on a scale number.

I am a published author and I mainly work within the area of Gastroenterology seeing various conditions such as IBS (Low FODMAP Diet certified), inflammatory bowel disease, SIBO, diverticulitis, gastritis and general digestive disorders.

Part of my role also includes thew prevention and treatment of eating disorders and disordered eating behaviours. I am also an Intuitive Eating Counsellor®. Mental illness can affect everyone across the lifespan and I have developed a passion for this field along the years of my clinical work.

I do also support women before and during pregnancy and I am experienced in working with condition related to women's health (including PCOS and endometriosis). I am also trained to support both women and men facing fertility disorders following or not the process of IVF.
