Classic Healthy Oat Biscuits

These traditional oat biscuits have a perfect balance of sweetness and nuttiness. With a satisfying crunch on the outside and slight chewiness inside, they're ideal with tea or coffee. The wholemeal flour and oats provide fiber, making them a nutritious alternative to commercial biscuits.

Ingredients
or150 grams of rolled oats
or100 grams of wholemeal flour
or80 grams of butter, unsalted
or60 grams of light brown sugaror45 grams of honey
or1 medium egg
or1/2 level teaspoon of baking powder
or1 teaspoon of cinnamon, ground
Preparation
1.
Preheat your oven to 180°C (160°C fan) and line a baking tray with parchment.

Mix the oats, flour, baking powder, cinnamon, and salt in a bowl.

Rub the butter into the dry ingredients until it resembles breadcrumbs.

Stir in the sugar or honey, then add the beaten egg and mix to form a dough. When using honey instead of sugar in this recipe, you might also want to: - Reduce any added milk (only add if absolutely necessary) - Consider adding an extra tablespoon of flour if the dough seems too sticky - Lower the oven temperature by about 5°C as honey can cause baked goods to brown faster

Roll out on a floured surface to about 5mm thickness.

Cut into rounds using a biscuit cutter.

Bake for 12-15 minutes until golden.

Cool on a wire rack.
9.
Store in an airtight container for about 5 days.
