Ryan is a Registered Dietitian with 5 years of clinical practice. Ryan spent three years as an inpatient dietitian at New Orleans East Hospital, as the sole inpatient dietitian of a 60 bed hospital. During his time there, Ryan recognized the need to get into the community and prevent the chronic diseases that were keeping the hospital beds full. The first step in improving the New Orleans East Community was starting the New Orleans East Hospital Farmer's Market, which is now the Grow Nola Farmer's Market.

While working in that role, another opportunity presented itself for Ryan to work in oncology. Most people have a loved one or know somebody that has fought against cancer, including Ryan. In the oncology setting, Ryan helps to prevent the symptoms and side effects of cancer treatments by using food as medicine.

While still working in oncology, Ryan has taken a step further to work on the prevention side of disease. In 2024 Ryan began a private practice that works with corporations to reduce the financial burdens associated with chronic disease. A single diabetic employee can cost that company an additional $13,000 per year in insurance costs and lost time. By preventing these diseases we can reduce costs to employers, while also improving the quality of life of employees.
