About me

Hello, Beautiful Soul!

I’m Iola, and I’m thrilled to have you here in my corner of wellness. Drawing on a Master's in Nutrition (with distinction) and a BSc in Human Ecology (with honors), I serve as a highly qualified Nutrition Therapy Practitioner and Health Advocate. My two decades of experience, combined with certifications as a Level II Swim Coach and a Level I Triathlon Coach, along with a distinction in the Arts and Science of Coaching, allows me to provide comprehensive guidance to my clients. My mission is to empower you to embrace a healthier, more fulfilling lifestyle by blending science, sports, and community impact.

When I’m not working, I’m immersed in the joy of movement and adventure. Whether it’s cycling scenic routes, running trails, swimming in open waters, or hiking through nature’s beauty, I thrive on staying active. And when the music plays especially soca, you’ll find me dancing like no one’s watching!

My greatest inspiration is my spirited 10-year-old son. He’s a budding triathlete with a knack for hands-on creativity and a love for music that mirrors my own. Spiritually, I walk a path guided by Olodumare and the Orishas, embracing the divinity of this journey with gratitude and purpose.

I’m deeply committed to tackling the obesogenic habits that impact health in Trinidad and Tobago and across the Caribbean. The effects of these habits fuel my passion to inspire change one step, one meal, and one mindset at a time.

Through this space, I aim to provide insights, strategies, and inspiration to help you take charge of your wellbeing. Together, we can achieve lasting transformations and create a future filled with vitality, balance, and joy.

Let’s embark on this journey to healthier living, starting now! 🌟

Moruga Hill Rice is a unique, nutty-flavoured grain that's a true Trinidadian treasure. It's an upland rice, meaning it's grown on hillsides without flooding, which gives it a distinct texture and flavour. Because it's a whole grain, it cooks differently from standard white rice.

This is a quick, savory, and healthy dish that's popular in many Trinidadian kitchens. The soft, creamy scrambled eggs perfectly balance the bold, bitter flavour of the Carilie, making it much more mellow and enjoyable. The key to a great stir-fry is in the preparation of the melon to reduce its bitterness.
